My sweet friend gave me this shirt - and another one a lot like it - and I have had SO MUCH FUN wearing them around here. Sometimes, all I have to do it throw on this beautiful Ethiopian orthodox silver necklace and connections start happening.
You see...there are MANY Ethiopian people living in this part of greater Atlanta. I sorta feel weird giving in to my desire to tap them on the shoulder and ask the obvious (since Ethiopian people have a very distinct, gorgeous look!) - or - start rambling to myself the few Amharic words I know in hopes they will hear me. SO...there are days when I just throw of one of my special shirts and see what happens. I have made some really FUN connections! OH! And I wore the necklace shown below to church - where there is a whole community of Ethiopian and Eritrean people who hold their own services down the hall each Sunday morning. Hoping the smiles are a precursor to future relationships. :)
And, as always, I have to explain that, NO...Hezekiah is, in fact, NOT adopted from Ethiopian. And - YES, I am 'sure!' Makes me laugh every time.
Here's to living a life of crazy connections - courtesy of God's fun plans. <3
