Our 'every day' in the midst of amazing diversity:
Read books with Hezzy's kindergarten class - over half of these sweeties are just now learning English!
Sewed with precious ladies from Sudan, Congo, Bhutan, Burma, Ethiopia, Iraq, Burundi, Tanzania and Eritrea - even Germany! They are Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and atheists. We share hugs and laughter and, SERIOUSLY? these women miraculously share even small amounts of food around our large, crowded lunch table so no one goes hungry.
A sweet friend blessed me with free turkey coupons - SO - my kids and I visited a pregnant refugee woman with 4 amazing kids to bless her with a large bird!
The kids and I played soccer and baseball with children from many nations until it got too dark to see the balls...but, not before a fascinating 13 year old boy from Nepal taught us how to convert our baseball game into a strange version of CRICKET, with a whiffle ball!
Makes you look forward to tomorrow with excitement and childlike anticipation.
